Last weekend was the British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone, and like last year we went to see Friday Practice. The notable thing about last year’s GP was the very poor weather, which meant we didn’t get to see much action as the teams spent most of the time in the garage. On Friday it looked a lot like we were going to have the same problem. It was cold and raining for first practice, although we did get a good spot in the Luffield B stand. We saw all the driver’s apart from Kimi come out for at least one fast lap, with some of those further back in the field actually doing a fair bit of running. Fortunately the weather did brighten up in the afternoon, so all the drivers came out to do race simulation running in Practice 2. During this practice session we spent our time on the ground, near to the fast corners of Maggots and Becketts. This was the first time I had spent right next to the race track and the sound and speed were extraordinary! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get any shots from there, so I still only have rainy shots and didn’t get any of Kimi this year. I did get some good shots from P1 though to make up for it. See the slideshow below for more shots.
